PET film is a packaging film with comprehensive performance. It has good transparency and gloss; it has good air tightness and fragrance retention; it has medium moisture resistance, and its moisture permeability decreases at low temperatures. PET film has excellent mechanical properties, and its toughness is the best among all thermoplastics. Its tensile strength and impact strength are much higher than those of ordinary films; it has good strength and stable dimensions, and is suitable for secondary processing such as printing and paper bags. PET film also has excellent heat resistance, cold resistance, and good chemical resistance and oil resistance. However, it is not resistant to strong alkali; it is easy to carry static electricity, and there is no appropriate anti-static method, so it should be paid attention to when packaging powdery items.

PET high-gloss film

In addition to the excellent physical and mechanical properties of ordinary polyester films, this film also has excellent optical properties, such as good transparency, low haze, and high gloss. It is mainly used for high-end vacuum aluminum-plated products. After aluminum plating, the film is mirror-like and has a good packaging decoration effect; it can also be used for laser anti-counterfeiting base film, etc. High-gloss BOPET film has a large market capacity, high added value, and obvious economic benefits.

PET transfer film

Transfer film is also called thermal transfer film. This transfer film is characterized by high tensile strength, good thermal stability, low thermal shrinkage, smooth and clean surface, good peelability, and can be used repeatedly. It is mainly used as a carrier for vacuum aluminum plating, that is, the PET film is placed in a vacuum aluminum plating machine for aluminum plating, coated with glue and compounded with paper, and then the PET film is peeled off, and the aluminum molecular layer is transferred to the surface of the cardboard through the adhesive action to form the so-called aluminum-plated cardboard. The production process of aluminum-plated cardboard is:

PET base film → release layer → color layer → aluminum plating layer → glue layer → transfer to cardboard.

Vacuum aluminum-plated cardboard is a kind of cardboard with metallic luster, which is a high-end and novel packaging material developed in recent years. This kind of aluminum-plated cardboard has bright color, strong metallic feel, and bright and elegant printed products. It can replace large-area hot stamping of printed products, which plays a role in beautifying the goods. Because it uses the vacuum aluminum plating method, only a thin, tight and bright aluminum layer of 0.25μm~0.3μm is covered on the surface of the cardboard, which is only one-fifth of the aluminum foil layer of the aluminum cardboard. In this way, it has both noble and beautiful metal texture and degradable and recyclable environmentally friendly properties. It is a green packaging material.

PET reflective film

The characteristics of PET reflective film are that the film has excellent optical properties, a flat and smooth surface, good thermal stability, small shrinkage, and light aging resistance.

The reflective materials used in traffic facilities are lens-type directional reflective film and flat-top reflective film. They all use aluminum-plated PET film as the reflective layer, and after coating it with pressure-sensitive adhesive, several glass beads with a refractive index of 1.9 are adhered to the PET aluminum-plated film, and then a layer of butyral surface protection layer is sprayed.

PET reflective film is used for billboards with reflective requirements, traffic reflective signs (reflective road signs, reflective isolation belts, reflective license plates), reflective police uniforms, industrial safety signs, etc.

PET chemical coating film

In order to improve the surface properties of PET film, improve the adaptability of printing and the bonding strength of vacuum aluminum coating layer, corona treatment is usually used to increase the surface tension of the film. However, the corona method has problems such as timeliness, especially in high temperature and high humidity environment, the tension of the film after corona treatment is easy to decay. However, the chemical coating method does not have such problems, so it is favored by the printing industry and aluminum plating industry. Domestic companies have developed a series of PET chemical coating products: such as coating with water-soluble polymers, which can increase the surface tension of PET film; coating with acrylic emulsions, which can improve the adaptability of printing (water-soluble ink can be used); coating with polyurethane aqueous solution, which can strengthen the bonding strength between the aluminum coating layer and the PET base film, and increase the thickness of the aluminum coating layer.

In addition, high barrier films and antistatic films can also be produced by coating.

PET antistatic film

Today's world has entered the information age, and electromagnetic waves of various frequencies and wavelengths fill the entire earth space. These electromagnetic waves will cause different degrees of interference to unshielded sensitive electronic components, circuit boards, communication equipment, etc., causing data distortion and communication disorder. The static electricity generated by electromagnetic induction and friction will be destructive to various sensitive components, instruments, certain chemical products, etc., such as high-voltage discharge caused by static electricity accumulation in packaging films. Therefore, it is also important to develop antistatic PET packaging films. The characteristic of antistatic film is that by adding a certain antistatic agent to the PET film, a very thin conductive layer is formed on the surface of the film, and a continuous phase is formed to improve the surface conductivity and make the generated charge leak as soon as possible. Generally, the surface resistivity of the antistatic film is required to be ≤10 to the 9th to 11th power ohm.

PET heat-sealing film

Ordinary PET is a crystalline polymer. After stretching and orientation, PET film will produce a large degree of crystallization. If it is heat-sealed, it will shrink and deform. Therefore, ordinary PET film does not have heat-sealing properties. When PET film is used for commodity packaging, in order to solve its heat sealing problem, the method of compounding BOPET film with PE film or CPP film is usually adopted, which limits the application of BOPET film to a certain extent.

In order to solve the heat sealing problem, a three-layer co-extruded heat-sealable PET film has been developed by modifying the PET resin and using a die head with an A/B/C three-layer structure. Since one side of this heat-sealable PET film is a heat-sealable layer, it can be directly heat-sealed and is very convenient to use. Heat-sealable PET film can be widely used in the packaging of various commodities and card protection films.

PET heat shrink film

Polyester heat shrinkable film is a new type of heat shrinkable packaging material. Because it is easy to recycle, non-toxic, odorless, has good mechanical properties, and is especially environmentally friendly, polyester (PET) has become an ideal substitute for polyvinyl chloride (PVC) heat shrinkable film in developed countries.

However, ordinary polyester is a crystalline polymer, and ordinary PET film can only obtain a heat shrinkage rate of less than 30% after special processing. If you want to obtain a polyester film with a higher heat shrinkage rate, you must also modify it. In other words, in order to prepare a polyester film with a high heat shrinkage rate, it is necessary to copolymerize and modify ordinary polyester, namely polyethylene terephthalate. The maximum heat shrinkage rate of the copolymerized PET film can be as high as 70% or more.

Characteristics of heat-shrinkable polyester film: It is stable at room temperature, shrinks when heated (above the glass transition temperature), and shrinks more than 70% in one direction.

Advantages of PET film

Because with the rapid development of PET beverage bottles, such as cola, Sprite, and various juices, beverage bottles require PET heat-shrinkable film to match them as heat-sealed labels. They belong to the same polyester category, are environmentally friendly materials, and are easy to recycle and reuse.

In addition to being used as shrink labels, heat-shrinkable polyester film has also begun to be used on the outer packaging of daily necessities in recent years. Because it can protect the packaged items from impact, rainproof, moisture-proof, and rust-proof, and can also enable the product to win users with beautifully printed outer packaging, and at the same time it can well display the good image of the manufacturer. At present, more and more packaging manufacturers use printed shrink film to replace traditional transparent film. Because printed shrink film can improve the appearance of the product, is conducive to product advertising, and can make a deep impression on the brand in the minds of consumers.
