Industry Applications
Transparent Plastic Films
When superior clarity and durability are key, our transparent polymer films will meet the requirements. These products are used to produce sneeze guards, disposable face masks, and other hygienic barriers. These films are easy to produce, durable, and come in a variety of thicknesses. We stock and process a variety of transparent plastic films, including:
Polyester (PET) – Clear polyester films have good chemical and moisture resistance and are suitable for uses such as packaging, barrier protection, and food-grade applications.
Polycarbonate (PC) – Clear polycarbonate films are extremely impact and abrasion resistant and are ideal for applications that require excellent clarity and durability, dimensional stability, and strength.
Polyethylene terephthalate glycol (PETG) – As the most cost-effective option, clear PETG film is particularly easy to manufacture and form, making it ideal for packaging and display applications.
We also produce chemically resistant films, such as our acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) film produced from Cycolac® resins. This translucent film has a tensile strength of 5700 psi, a continuous operating temperature range of 40°F to 140°F, and a Rockwell hardness rating of R100. Our ABS film is impact and chemical resistant and is often used in household products, medical devices, automobiles, and office equipment.
Dielectric Strength Films
Ethylene-chlorotrifluoroethylene (ECTFE), which has excellent dielectric strength. This durable, high-purity film performs well in extreme temperatures and is chemically resistant. The film meets the UL-94 V-0 vertical burn test standard and is suitable for many electrical applications such as high-temperature electrical tapes, cable wraps, release films, medical components, and solar panels.
Flame Retardant Polymer Film
The films we produce from engineered high-performance thermoplastics are designed to provide exceptional strength and durability in extreme temperature conditions. Here are the specifications for this flame retardant polymer film:
Flexural Strength: 23.6 kpsi (163 MPa)
Tensile Strength: 18.9 kpsi (130 MPa)
Rockwell Hardness: 99 (R-Scale)
Continuous Operating Temperature Range -70 °F to 500 °F
UL RTI Rated up to 464 °F
Melting Point: 644 °F
Heat Deflection Temperature: 306 °F at 1.8 MPa
These qualities make our stock and custom-sized films and tapes suitable for the challenges of aerospace, fire protection, medical, pharmaceutical, military, and other industries, meeting their safety, performance, and toxicity standards.
FDA-Approved Substrates
U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations require that films, tapes, sheets, and other polymer and rubber products meet health and safety standards. Many of our products meet these performance requirements, including some of our formulations:
UHMW Polyethylene, Teflon ® /PTFE, Fiberglass, and PEEK™ Tapes
ABS, PEEK™, Teflon ® /PTFE, and Tefzel ® /ETFE Polymer Films
PTFE Coated Fabrics
Silicone Rubber Sheets
Applications for FDA-approved substrates include insulation, conveyor belting, surface protection, guide rails, and storage bins.
Medical Grade Products
Products approved for medical use must meet stringent safety and performance standards. Our premium medical grade silicone sheets meet USP Class VI requirements and feature:
Low Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)
Peroxide Free
Platinum Cured
Won't fade over time
Low Friction Heat Seal Tapes
The non-stick surface of fluoropolymer materials, including PTFE, makes them ideal for packaging solutions. We offer PTFE as a coating for PTFE and other tape substrates, such as fiberglass. These tapes are ideal for applications such as heat seal release tapes, blister pack thermoforming, and form-fill-seal packaging operations. Stock tape stock typically ships within 1-2 business days, custom rolls or sheets take slightly longer to ship.
